While the origin and definition of “Ynycio” are certainly up for debate, we choose to believe it would roughly translate to “alpine paradise”. It doesn’t translate to anything, but who doesn’t want to see the magic of everyday life?

Regardless of the quirky accommodation name, there is nothing to be confused about Ynycio. It is a pretty special place to call home for the duration of your trip. Located at 2150m in Tignes Val Claret and offering an unobstructed view of the surrounding mountains, our initial translation guess wouldn’t be far off the money. Take advantage of direct access on skis to the Grande Motte funicular & the Bollin chairlift, while the bustling centre of Val Claret is just 200 metres away.

Take your pick of Ynycio accommodation, ranging from 40m² two-bedroom apartments to 110m² four-bedroom options. Suitable for groups of 2-8 people.

Guests can also benefit from an extensive range of relaxation facilities to supplement their ski routines. Facilities include a large wellness area that features a swimming pool, sauna, hammam, and an outdoor whirlpool on the panoramic terrace. Frankly, an outdoor whirlpool on a panoramic terrace would be enough of a selling point for us.

As one of many Résidences in Tignes Val Claret, guests also get exclusive access to Ynycio’s lounge/bar area - this is a fantastic place to kick your feet up for a few hours and knock back a few drinks to pass the time.
